A big thank you goes out to all seniors for making this possible and all participants for their awesome participation.

We had an awesome time building our own rafts, jungle trekking, cooking our own lunch, and so much more and I’m sure that through these 3 days 2 nights, we have formed very strong bonds which will last for a very long time.

On top of that, the seniors have also shared their invaluable experience and knowledge with the freshers. Touching on topics such as accommodation, what to expect, weather, packing, and the list goes on.

Overall, I’m sure everyone who attended the camp will agree that we have achieved our objective of the camp which is to form bonds from right here in Malaysia to better prepare everyone for Warwick, because it is a jungle out there ^^

With this, I proudly welcome 24 new members into our MSA family!

The pre-departure briefing for 2010 by the University of Warwick will be held at Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel (map). This session is a great introduction to the university and will brief you on the visa application, therefore we strongly recommend that you attend this session even if you have not received your A-Levels results yet. This session would:

1. Cover important information about the visa application and other important documents required to enter UK.
2. Answer questions related to banking, mobile services, accommodation, etc in the UK.
3. Give you a clearer picture of what to expect from the University of Warwick as a Malaysian.
4. Present you the opportunity to meet and have a chat with your prospective Malaysian seniors in Warwick!

Wait. Before all that happens, let’s make this term more exciting by having a BBQ party when the temperature is just perfect and when everyone of us is still here! Many of us are either flying back or going travelling right after the exams, therefore we have decided to hold the party before the exams, and as far away from exams as possible =)

So come along! We guarantee you lots of food and lots of fun during the BBQ party, but we need you to come! Now here are the details that you have been waiting for:

• Organized our Resource page into Before You Depart, For Current Members and General Information.
• Created an archive of our preceding committees, you can check them out by hovering your mouse over Execs.
• Added a contact page with the necessary details to reach the committee and also a simple contact form that will reach us just as well!
• Added a Lost N Found page that lists out all the belongings that are with us.
• Added some social logos on the top-right corner that allows you to send an email to us, find us on Facebook and subscribe to our feed (RSS). Click on them!
• Made pages specially to facilitate information for our larger events such as MNight and Warwick Games. (Still constructing)
• Made pages to keep you updated on our weekly sports sessions! (Still constructing)
• Created a video page linking to our newly created YouTube account in order to archive our memorable moments =) (Still constructing)
• Created a page for the manifestos of the incoming committee. (Manifestos not uploaded yet, check back in a while)

Nominations are open as of Monday, 19th April 2010 and will close Tuesday, 27th April 2010 at 5pm. Only members of MSA (i.e. registered through the University of Warwick Students’ Union and

paid 3 pounds) may accept nominations and run for elections.

The available positions and allocated time for speeches are as follows:
1 President – 4 mins
1 Vice President – 4 mins
1 Secretary – 3 mins
1 Treasurer – 3 mins
1 Cultural Officer – 2.5 mins
1 Sports Officer – 2.5 mins

All nominations must be forwarded to warwickmsaelections2010@googlemail.com in the following format:
(a) the name of the nominee
(b) the position he/she is running for
(c) his/her email address
This applies regardless of whether you are nominating yourself or another person.

All candidates can produce a short, one-page OPTIONAL manifesto. You can either submit your manifesto to us at warwickmsaelections2010@googlemail.com so we can print it out and distribute it for you, or present it yourself using the projector during your speech. If you wish to submit it to us for printing please do so by 12 NOON on the day of the AGM (28 April 2010) so we have time to print it out.
